Happy New Year... EVE

I like to be the first. So today is New Years Eve. Tia likes to be able to say we are having a live band at our shindig. Well it IS true. One of my older brothers has a band. They are bringing all their stuff down to Mom's tonight to set up out in the shop and "fine tune" and amaze us all with their brilliance. Ok, so they said the first part and I added the last. I am trying to be more of a optimist... maybe that's my new years resolution.. eh.. eh. *grin* anyhow, I'm not sure what else we are going to be doing besides listening to the band, having a bonfire and waiting for midnight when we will have fireworks and then can go to bed. I had at one time planned to have a NCIS marathon tomorrow, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my darn package is still somewhere out there in the wide world of shipping options. so far its been "en route" for like 3 weeks or so. brilliant. Well I'm off to make cookies. yay

the weekend is over...

and I didn't blog once!

So so shocking. Ok, so I don't think anything happened to blog about so it didn't get done. So not much happend, it was cold, I didn't have to do any chores YAY and ummm.. it was cold. we played Halo with colt a few more times and he still creamed us, but we are showing tiny signs of improvement. I still haven't played the new rock band track pack yet but I did watch a NCIS marathon ALL day long one day. I also sorted through boxes and boxes of stuff and still never found what I was looking for but I did get stuff organized that needed it.

Today I went and took a stupid test, I only missed one, which is good. Of course I'm a dork and all I could think was... dammit, which one did I miss! hee hee hee

Now I have to go to the dentist and I'm not excited cause I have a cavity. blah. I also have to have a filling replaced because I broke it while chewing on ice. Waaaaaah guess I will quit chewing on ice.

Ok, I'm off, the next time I get on I will probably be slobbering and numb. yay

looooong day

Today has seemed like such a long day and I don't feel I've gotten anything accomplished. I have been looking for a certain card and I can't find it anywhere! I need to find it by Monday and its just not gonna happen I'm afraid. So today I spent almost the entire day going through all kinds of crap trying to find it. The one corner in Tia's room I had taken over to scrapbook in so my old desk is in there. well I haven't scrapbooked for a long time and other stuff made its way to my corner, so I cleaned the whole corner thinking I might find the card in one of the "catch all the crap" boxes that have made their way over there. No such luck. the corner is all clean now though and I have all the reciepts for taxes sorted into their months and all kinds of other crap sorted and put where it actually goes so that was good. but still didn't get done my objective. So tomorrow I am going to go out and sort all of the crap that has been put in the camp trailer to "store" and needs to be cleaned out anyhow but its freaking cold out there. gonna do it though. damn the card. after the camp trailer is the shed and that's just a really scary thought! :-0 oh well. that was my day. Oh except we have been playing Halo every night with Colt and Todd and I have a pact to not kill each other if possible and Colt STILL creams us! DOH!

Still Christmas!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful and lovely Christmas day. I did. Hopefully everyone else in our little house did too but to that I could only guess. after being up forever and a hour this morning I finally fell asleep again just to be woken up by Colt not long later because it was 7 o'clock and we said he could wake us up at 7. by then I was tired and no longer wanted to be awake. but I woke up... took one for the team. so we woke up, and opened presents. Todd already broke his remote control helicopter because he doesn't listen to directions. tsk tsk tsk. I did order him a new part for it so maybe there is a chance he'll actually get to play with it. It was a windy cold bugger here today but I only went outside to drive to the dump with all the trash and hell I didn't even get out of my PJ's for that. still in my PJ's for that matter. Tia got dressed long enough to do chores then she had to get dressed for tonights chores. The rest of the day we've pretty much been lazy. when someone got hungry they made themselves leftovers from last night.....or had pie. tonight the wind quit blowing and it started snowing! yikes. LOTS of snow. It wasn't almost gone earlier and the wind had even dried out some of the mud. now there is snow EVERYWHERE! yuck. oh well, spring is coming one day closer every day :-)

MERRY CHRISTMAS! almost!

in a few short hours it will be Christmas.. YAY! I don't know why I am excited for Christmas, we are not getting anything to exciting but I am still happy for it to get here!. yay. we opened our obligatory pj's and now the husband keeps saying at midnight we can open presents. NO! we are going to not open presents til morning! Morning I say!!! We all played Halo with Colt, the three of us against him and he creamed us. He's such the snot. Before that Mom and Willie and Boober came over for dinner. generally Mom and Willie go to the cabin but she had to work today so I invited them over. Boober was already coming. So they came over and we had dinner and then BS'd for awhile. then we opened our pj's, got in said pj's and then played Halo. now we are watching a movie (kind of, tia and I are also on the Internet) soon we should go to sleep so we can sleeeeeep til present time :-) we will probably have pie sometime before then too. Ok, so that's about it. Pie, did someone say pie?

Its Christmas Eve Eve!

not a whole lot going on. Tia is off at a friends for the night, Todd Colt and I just gone done watching NCIS a short while ago. Today was the kids last day of school until after the Holidays. They're very happy about that. actually so am I. I like having them home with me. Today after I picked them up and we had lunch we finished putting together the "neighbor plates" and went and delivered plates of cookies to those we found at home! ok, we actually got all the cookies and presents delivered except to 2 people and I'm wondering if one of them is out of town. Anyhow, got all that done and got the boys put in for the turkey hunt draw, watched NCIS and now I'm planning tomorrow's dinner. And blogging of course :-)

Anyone reading this that knows where I live is welcome to come over for dinner tomorrow night. we are having a boneless prime rib cooked on my Traeger (which is the most awesome BBQ/Smoker in the world I tell you),grilled marinated chicken for Tia our no mammal eater, cold shrimp (as tia used to call them), Shrimp pasta salad, corn salad (It's a Iowa thing I think), homemade rolls, raw cauliflower, carrots and celery (there's cheese for the celery), olives, and deviled eggs. then banana cream pie, pecan pie, turtle pie (oh poor POG and Tina! ha ha ha)and pumpkin pie. If you show up at our house on Christmas day you'll get the exact same things only leftovers. :-)

Well that's my story for the day. I'm glad its almost Christmas! yay! then it can be spring. :-)

it's 2 freakin 30 am! what the hell.

Ok, so here I am awake again. I've been awake since 1:30 when Alice jumped onto our bed and I immediately thought, get away from my feet! then I thought that she might need to go out but then the dog door was open and she did NOT think I was nice when I threw her out the front door anyhow. Now I can't sleep. If I have only been asleep for 2 to 4 hours then me waking up is a bad bad thing as it was like a power nap and now I'm ready to be awake. If I hit that magical 5 or 6 hours of sleep then I don't want to wake up and can fall back asleep easily for the most part. today I only got to the 2 hours and now I'm wide awake. What is it about nighttime that make everything seem so much louder. especially when you actually are trying to sleep? or is it just me? Todd usually sleeps with the tv on which drives me batty. you'd think after being married to him this many years I'd be used to it but I'm not! well tonight he decided to sleep with it off. YAY! Well maybe yay. so with the tv off the turtle filter sounded very very loud. The tank needed some more water added so the water falling back into the tank was splashing uncommonly loud. I was to lazy to get up and fix it so figured I'd do it tomorrow (which is now today and of course I had said that the day before also and then forgot about it) well anyhow, so I fell asleep. In my dream there was all this rushing water! (dammit) Tia, Colt, Todd and I were at some peoples house with the peoples son waiting on the parents for some stupid ass reason. So there we were in their house looking out the back window. or what should have been a back window it was actually just a big huge open square in their wall that looked into the back. there was water running everywhere around the place and the house was also flooded, which for some reason didn't seem weird at the time. the weird part was the frikkin crocodiles! they were everywhere, which is why we were watching out the back. we kept jumping between the bed and a couch trying not to get into the water because every time you went into the water one of the darn things would lunge at you. well pretty soon this ginormous one kept coming after us anyhow and came up onto the bed we were standing on so we all put ropes all around it and was wrapping it up in a sheet when the parents finally showed up. They were mad because we let one of the crocs get in their bed. They didn't seem at all perturbed by the fact that their house was underwater and their were crocs to begin with! then Alice jumped into bed with us and I woke up. So I put Alice outside and filled the water in the turtle tank so it would be quiet and then tried to go back to sleep. no dice. so now Aggie woke up and wanted out of her kennel so I just let her outside and now I'm not sure what she's doing out there. maybe she put herself to bed in her outside kennel, the heat lamp is still on in her house out there after all. Maybe I should go see.

I really dislike snow!

And it just keeps coming! Is it April yet? I would like it to be April! Oh wait, then I'll have goats milking and kids to feed. Darn. I still want it to be April!

To all my loyal viewers who are Jewish! there are none? well that's just sad.

So today was a lovely Sunday. We built the still unnamed mare a new pen so she could drink out of the cow trough, which will be getting its heater put in shortly then we won't have to break the ice for the cows or the horse. that will be good. It was also kind of neccesary as the snow had drifted so high in the poor mares pen that she could hardly move around in it. we could have used the backhoe and cleaned the snow out but she needed to be moved anyhow for the trough.

I baked cookies for neighbors today also, we made two kinds. the chocolate chip ones I always make and then this years "new" cookie... it was not so very great. I don't think we are giving them to the neighbors! I also made rolls and a weird loaf of bread, that started out rising wrong and then I forgot was in the oven so it has an even worse problem now! hee hee

Not much going on today, except the spurt of outdoor work we've been kind of lazing around in the house where its warm. yay

I did get a little ahead of ourselves on the not having to drive Tia around anymore post, because she doesn't have her license yet. we have all the paperwork to get it so if the weather isn't horrid tomorrow we'll drive to the drivers license office in Richfield tomorrow. otherwise... we wont.

So, today was another day.

Bet you didn't know that. Still no job.. blah. Still didn't do alot today, chores, laundry pick up the house, same ol same ol. after school took Tia to take the food handlers test, she got 100% of course, then took her to guitar lessons and did some run around errands in town during both things. Next month she can run herself around and I won't have to figure out what to do whilst I'm waiting for her. Although I have gotten used to visiting the library on Wednesdays so maybe I won't let her drive after all. mwah ha ha. Ok, so we've figured out her birthday events.. we are so lame! but it will be fun regardless. We were wishing Mandarin Garden was closer cause that would be scrumptious to have for her birthday but as its not, I guess we will go to the Loft, or the pizza house whichever she picks (not many other choices here in our lovely town). I already know what I'll have depending on which one we go to.. the loft- a small prime rib the pizza house- seafood alfredo Mmmmmmmmm hmmm to bad Olive Garden isn't closer. sometimes its too bad ANYTHING isn't closer. There is a cafe in town still but I honestly haven't eaten anything good there except breakfast. The cafe we used to go to for dinner closed awhile back. There is also a Mexican place that is usually decent. A new Mexican place is being built as I type. then there is a McDonalds, a Subway, a lotsa motsa and a local burger joint. yep, unless you drive for quite some time that is our lovely dining options. blah. Wow, that got off track from Tia's birthday plans. So we will give her her presents. She is getting... Psych! like I'd put that on here with her being my only reader! sucker. anyway, presents, cake, dinner and then we are going to have a Rockband fest. Not much else to do in our lovely town this time of year. Monday, I think we will drive to Richfield and look for a drivers license office and probably grab a burger. unless of course its snowing in which case we will stay home like good little girls.

Bella is a fair weather dog....

So all of us know that Bella has taken over Todd's recliner.. but few people know her real favorite spot to sleep as of late. When no one else is home and its just her and I, THIS is where she actually spends almost all her time...


Yep, that's right. right in front of the pellet stove, with the warmth blowing all over her. She only goes back to the chair once Todd gets home from work to prove its still hers. *grin* all I can say is its a darn good thing she's not a outside dog, I think she'd die.

I'm still awake...

So I haven't slept all that much in the last 24 hours but that's all good. I was rather bored between 2 and almost 5 this morning but since then it has been all good. We are down to 22 goats I think. I'm pretty sure that's right. we do have four others that are still going to leave to their new home sometime also. but for the most part we are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down and I'm glad. I'm also quite excited to be focusing on the two breeds instead of going in all different directions trying to keep so many breeds going.

Not alot else happened today, its freaky cold and I don't like it. we need to break out the trough heaters. blah. so since it was so cold, Colt got the brilliant idea to go get slurpees... so we did. Mmmmmmm slurpee we also looked at some Christmas lights came home and were all jolly.. then Tia poked my eye out. oooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww ok, so really she didn't poke it out.. honestly how do you poke an eye "out" anyhow, you can poke it "in" much easier. ok,so really it wasn't even her fault other then she was a little over exuberant with her hug and forgot to pay attention to the fact that I was scratching the corner of my eye at the time. whine whine, my eye is sore.

I should be sleeping! I woke up at 2 am today and couldn't get back to sleep, so here I am boooooooooooooooooooored. There's not a whole lot to do even now at a litle after 4. I played some Zuma, read some email and now Fresh Prince is on the tv. Later on this morning I am making a quick trip to Salina, might as well leave now but then I'd just have to sit around in the truck with nothing to do while I wait for stuff to open! So I might as well do that here. I'm BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORED

Snow sucks...

So its snowing.. and cold.. and nasty outside. I can honestly say I can think of nothing I like about winter. I know, I know, we need snow to make moisture so we have water but really I hate it. I hate the cold, I hate chores in winter, I hate the cold muddy crap, I hate driving in it, I hate how other people drive in it! The only good thing about this time of year is the lovely warmth from the fire of course I'd trade it in a heartbeat for the warm sun of the summer and the artic blast of the air conditioner... ok, if I could really pick I'd pick the nice fall days. where the nights are cool and the days are warm. Call me picky. Ok, I must go to town now, I will continue this later....

.....Ok, its later. So yeah, snow really sucks. Todd and I went to town as IFA was having a huged sale. Too bad we didn't need anything! Why can't they have this sale during the summer when I actually need feed and animal supplies and such. blah blah blah we did buy Todd 3 long sleeve pocket t-shirts. Exciting eh? Then we went to the grocery store and bought onions for breakfast tomorrow and dog food for the pooches. I wish there was somewhere closer that sold Nutro dog food. we've been feeding Black Gold again and I like it alright but not as much as Nutro and its getting freaky expensive. Oh well. Not a whole lot more got done today, we were going to go haul hay but first the wind was blowing, then some man in this house decided to take a nap instead and then we lost our two hour halfway decent weather window and it started snowing. So I took a nap. Might as well go to bed now too as there is nothing better to do. Not sleepy though so I guess I'll upload more pictures. lets see how much trouble I can get into tonight.

December is 1/3 over!

Soon the end of the month will be upon us! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ok, just kidding, I really don't care. Tia's birthday is soon and it is her 16th and that's supposed to be a landmark birthday but I'm just not a good celebration person and it will be sad when she just gets her cake and present, we'll go out to dinner but alas no hoopla. Maybe since its on a Saturday we should go North to a movie (what the crap is coming out!) and have dinner up there.. but then wait, what about the cake! I have the cake all planned! I know I'll make the cake the day before while she's at school and then hide it! where the hell will I hide it! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok, I'm alright again. Today was yet another long day. Filled out yet another job application which actually out of all that I've filled out I'd rather get this job... kind of... not necessarily doing what it is, but as a foot into doing what I actually wanted to do there a few months ago. hows that for cryptic. honestly there is nothing that happened today that is interesting. woke up, chores, straighten house, take Tia to guitar lessons, make dinner, get on computer. Dang, I'm boring.

The last couple of days Phil one of the brothers has been emailing me. It was kind of a shock the first time. He seems rather nice... on a computer screen anyhow. of course I admitted I don't know how to play poker or croquet and I drive all FORDS. I could be disowned all over again! :-)

Well Colt, the brat who spent an hour playing HALO on my computer just remembered he has homework he needs to do on it so I gotta go.

Ok, so today I didn't do a whole lot, woke up, did a bit o laundry, some dishes, swept the kitchen (you all excited yet?) ummmmmmmm.... put up the outside christmas lights. Ok, that wasn't a big feat, I only put up two strands! Tia and I took a baby christmas tree to the cemetary to put on Grandpa Nels grave its cute, I took a picture. I, being forever the pessimist KNOW someone is going to steal it. Our stuff always gets stolen. rude.


cute eh? Then, Todd and I went to town to avoid a church dinner (snicker, we are so immature). came home cooked dinner, watched NCIS (YAY! I love that show) and now the NFR is on while I've been wasting my time uploading pics to myspace. Now I was reminded I haven't blogged so here I am a blogging. I can't remember if I didn't anything else exciting so I'll leave it at that.

oh yeah one more thing.. THE SNOW MELTED! YAY!!

I hope. Today was a much better day. I don't know why but I just decided life goes on and things are no different then they were before. I have a great little family here in my little house and parents who love me just a few miles away. So anyhow life goes on. Today I slept in. I opened my eyes and it was 9 o'clock! :-0 I hauled some crap to the dump, cleaned a small part of my shed and moved some stuff around. A couple of totes of stuff I had to move for Christmas I think will just stay out there until sometime in the future when I have a real place to put it. I wrapped some presents (see picture in last post, which was actually taken today)then picked up some more and made dinner. That's about it. Is it Christmas yet? I want it to be so the presents that aren't opened yet can get opened! hahahahaha I do have a couple more to wrap so maybe I'm getting ahead of myself on that note. Tonight I started to put up a few strands of outdoor lights and it was snowing and ugly! YUCK YUCK YUCK. I really don't like winter all that much. blah blah blah. oh well, every day is one day closer to spring! YAY

my poor house..

Ok, first I really do like Christmas but the last few years I just haven't been that into the whole Christmas decorating thing. Mostly because we have to much crap and a tiny house! to put up the Christmas stuff I want to we have to pretty well dismantle the living room, find a place to put all that crap and then put up Christmas stuff, just to undo and rebuild afterwards. So this year we are going minimalistic. Much much easier on me, but still my house looks like a bomb went off. Colt and Tia went with Willie and Mom to get a tree. I kept hammering it into them that it had to not be very big around and it was ok if it was short. So that's what I got and I am very very happy about it! Todd had to build a new tree stand because we have never had a tree with such a small trunk but there it is in the corner sitting on its table with its little colored balls and lights. We did have to go buy a couple packages of small shiny ball ornaments to go on it as its too little for the regular sized balls or our other decorations. I still like it and I only had to move one bookshelf to get it in. Of course we did have a bit of a present problem. Todd's present was entirely to large to fit under or next to the tree. we had it there for about 15 minutes when I said he should just open it! Of course the kids then said they should get to open one if Dad got to so we had a very VERY early open on present this Christmas! maybe I will tell them on Christmas eve they already opened their early present. Oh crap Tia will read this and know my clever scheme. but at least the rest of the presents should fit under the tree now. I haven't taken a picture yet but maybe tomorrow I will.... or not

I really don't know how to do this post. So I will probably just ramble a bit, please forgive me. Of course there are only two people who read this, ok, really only one now and I do think I have mentioned before that blogs that are only full of happy and sunny stuff are stupid as noones life is perfect and people shouldn't try to pretend it is... ah hell, this message is looking bad already isn't it. *SIGH* oh well here goes.

So this last week has been a little rough. I was kind of shocked when Todd brought home the obituary of my father, although I am glad he did. He said he wasn't sure how to approach it so he just handed it over. of course the wrong side was up and so as I stood there staring at an obituary of "Donald Bradford" and thinking.. "who the hell is this", he looked at me like I was crazy. I finally said, I don't know who this is and he looked over and flipped the thing over and there he was. Since then it has been a roller coaster of emotions. I don't think my family knew what to do either. sorry family. The first struggle was do I go to the funeral. I knew I wanted to but I also didn't want to. I felt like I would be a funeral crasher. I know that when I was a small child he must have loved me and I'm not entirely sure what happened to make him not care anymore but its been over 20 years since I was a part of that family. I have thought about him over the years and for some reason have always been glad he was out there somewhere because I deluded myself with the thought that someday he might change his mind. apparently not. So I went to the funeral, my lovely family went with me, although I still don't think they knew what to do with or for me. The funeral was hard. I felt even more like a gate crasher and tried to just hide in the corner until it got started. It was very weird being at a funeral of a "relative" and knowing absolutely noone there (except Todd, Tia and Colt of course). I had seen pictures of the three sons on the internet Friday night so I could pick them out of the crowd. but other then that I didn't even know peoples names. The hardest part was listening to the speakers. They all went on and on about what a kind loving man he was and how family was so important to him. Which proved all my old assumptions true I guess.... It was "just me" that was the problem.... Well actually it may not have been "just me", there is another son who was not in the paper obituary but that was listed in the program at the funeral. I don't know that person either. so wether he was a part of his life I don't know..... I am however glad I went. I learned things about him that I had no idea of, ok so actually I learned I knew NOTHING about him before. Hell, I didn't even know he was a twin. But the biggest thing is I am sure if I hadn't gone I would have kicked myself forever thinking I should have gone and the whole "what if I'd gone" spiel. Now its over and that chapter of my life has come to its conclusion and life will go on.

On a better note, I did finally make it to see my Grandma Lafeen's grave. I've been wanting to go find it forever and haven't done it. I honestly don't know hardly anything about her either but all I have are great memories of her when I was little. The whole "milk and cookies grandma" kind of memories. Wether they are right or wrong I'm keeping those memories :-)

Guess that's about it. I'm going to go lie down, my head is killing me.

Have you ever heard that song? well I changed the "we" to "I" but still. urgh, I swear this month is going to make me crazy. Still don't want to talk about last nights topic. We are going to the funeral tomorrow, that should be interesting. We will be the ones hiding somewhere not speaking to people. I honestly have no idea what to wear. I don't know if it will be a casualesque type deal or a dressed up one. I think I am leaning towards the slacks and decent shirt angle. I know Tia will wear pants with me so at least I wont be the ONLY one not in a dress. Hell I'm the black sheep of the family anyhow, might as well do it right. *sigh*

Ok, so we got the cows moved home today and tonight we were watching Hancock which we had netflixed and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH it was so freakin slow to get into and then finally we did and the last scene section wouldn't work! so it left us hanging not knowing how it ended! what the heck! what the heck I say. Oh well. Guess that's about it. Guess I'll go lie down and hope I can sleep better and see what tomorrow brings. *sigh*

Today I found out that my Father died on Monday. I'm really not sure how I feel about it. Honestly there's not alot to say on the subject. I haven't even seen him since the summer after I turned 16 (and that didn't go over so great) and as I just turned 35 its been a looooooong time. Nope, not sure how I feel about it. *sigh*

So today was my third day of no job. blah. It is strange that I can take a week off of work and its fine but the moment I don't have a job at all its just weird to be home all day. anyhow, today I cleaned up the front yard. rolled up hoses for the winter, pulled up tomato cages etc. did chores, checked the cows, did dishes and laundry and made rolls to go with dinner. then I took Tia to guitar lessons, then we ate dinner and watched the "epic" movie high school musical 2. we actually watched the first one yesterday and I figured this one couldn't be any worse. Ok, let me just say I DO NOT get the whole hoopla over these movies. I forced my family into watching them because they were so over the top popular and now I just don't get it. oh well, tomorrow they will be sent back to netflix and tomorrow nights movie is Hancock! that has GOT to be better!!!

a bella fact... She's grown!

So our sweet little (?) Bella will be 11 months old tomorrow. Today I was putting some pics of her in "her chair" on her page on our website and so now I'm going to put the then and now pic of her in "her chair". The first is when she was about 8 or 9 weeks old, the second was last weekend. by the way Todd thinks its his chair, but I'm pretty sure Bella has claimed it. It's December

which means nablowhatever is over. So you see I didn't post yesterday, cause i didn't have to! hahahaha Ok, so really I didn't post yesterday because I wasn't on my computer very much and didn't care. I didn't do much of anything yesterday, sent off a couple of job applications, did the dishes, started straightening up the freezers, did chores, watered the cows. yup, that's about it. On todays agenda... more of the same I'm afraid. blah blah blah. Guess I'll go out and do chores now and get started at it.

Unemployed

Yep, that's me. Today was my last day of work, I got my last paycheck and turned in my keys. Job hunting. blah. I honestly don't know about a real "real" job. Tomorrow I am putting an application in for a crappy job. I probably won't get it either! I've worked continuously since I was 18 but technically I have "no work experience" blah. Oh well such is life in the jungle. maybe I should have got a real job after high school. oh well. hindsight is lovely. I've been discovering that alot the last while.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Tia's so sweet :-) even if she is a blog hijacker. So today I am older... a whole day older then I was yesterday! hahahahahaha So I got up this morning and went to work as usual (only one day left) the I picked tia up from grandma's where she had spent the night and came home so she could do chores. I was then lazy almost all day long. I watched a movie, took an entirely to short nap (damn phone) then ate too many cookies and too much icing while Tia was making my cake.

Then I opened my present, which was a electric canner, which I am mainly going to use as a pasturizer. I've been wanting one for a looooooooooooooooong time but they are expensive! So I was assuming I'd be dragging the old ones back out. now I don't have to ! YAY! After the kids did chores we went to town and had dinner.. mmmm prime rib.. ooooooooh I was so full, then we went to the movies and watched Bolt. ok, tad bit weird movie but it had its humorous parts and one sad part that then turned out alright. Now we are back home and the kids are giving me cake and icecream and colt is being weird and trying to give me a huge piece. Now they are in there arguing about ice cream sccops. strange children. Yum the cake was good. yes there was a short break in this post cause I was handed birthday cake and ice cream. Spice cake with cream cheese frosting... Mmmmmm

Tomorrow is christmas tree hunting day. I'm hoping we track down a small one as it needs to go in the corner again this year. then Sunday is my last day of work. that is my upcoming agenda in case I miss posting again!

Ok, so I failed but HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I didn't post yesterday. I am going to blame it all on going crazy baking :-) yes that's my excuse. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! we went to mom's for dinner as usual. It was crowded but fun. It was great to see the new babies, who aren't really new anymore as they are almost a year old but it is the first I had seen them. sooooooo cute. especially Clover, she loved me. That was about it for the day, lots of food and family. Now I'm off to go to bed since I have to get up and go to work in the morning. two more days of work and then I'm unemployed. sad.

I am so full... and its all Tia's fault!

So Tia had this bright idea she was craving Mexican food so we went to a Mexican food place in town. It was either that or go to the store to buy stuff to make Mexican food and well... the restaurant was just easier. I am now too full though. Urgh. I need to learn to order better. What else.. ummm not much. I printed off a subway application though does that count . On Tomorrow's agenda.. get up early go to work, come home do some stuff, go back to work. yay

So today is Sunday and i worked all day. nothing new there... although I did watch NCIS on the internet today after getting done stocking and off and on again the rest of the day between customers and cleaning up spilled pop. Now I'm home and was blog stalking when I remembered I hadn't blogged yet! how could that be! :-0 I am also eating pie.... ok, so right now I am staring at pie not eating it. I had a turkey sandwich when I got home then colt wanted pie. so I got him pie and then I decided I wanted pie too. I couldn't decide if I wanted a piece of the pecan/chocolate/coconut one I made or Chocolate cream so I got a smallish piece of both... DOH!! I at the pecan etc one and now the other is staring back at me cause I still want it but I'm to full. BLAH. It will have to just sit there while I digest cause I am going to eat it! See this is exactly how people should not be.. if you have a piece of pie and are full you shouldn't eat another! oh well.

30 days til D day

that is "driving" day. hahahaha now that Tia passed her Driving test and already passed her written test she is good to go, to get her license as soon as she has her birthday. The countdown above is NOT to her Birthday though as she cannot get her license on her birthday. It is until the first day after her birthday that she could actually get her license. Which is on Monday the 22nd of December IF we drive somewhere else to get it. Her birthday is a bad time of year for this sort of thing, especially this year! the Drivers license place is only open 3 days a month. two of those times in December are BEFORE her birthday and the other is on Christmas Eve.... I don't know that they are really going to be open on Christmas eve! So I'm thinking we may just go to Richfield or Orem on the 22nd and go to one of the full time offices! otherwise the delta office wont be open for two more weeks after her birthday and she will be sad. So will I! I am waiting on pins and needles to not have to drive her EVERYWHERE!

Its finally friday.. i'm free again... really its friday

but I'm not so much free :-) I have to wake up at 5 am as usual to go to work. Of course I'm not going to complain even if I do end up working every day this next week (cept thanksgiving) cause then I am done! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Yeah, me thinks I should have looked for a job long ago but alas I didn't. Beings that I was going to be leaving town for 3 weeks in the last couple of months I didn't see a job that would be alright with that with only a week or so into the job. I do actually have all the christmas shopping done that I "need" to do. there were a couple other things that I would have liked to have bought, but what I have done is very workable so there we go. There can always be Christmas in July again. That was quite fun actually. So at least that part is covered. thank goodness.

Guess what! Tia passed her driving test!!! YAY! she was so nervous but she did it so that is good. Now she just has to wait for her Birthday to come and of course to not make us mad so we won't sign the papers and she will be a licensed driver.

Tomorrow we are eating our test turkey I also made a test pie and will make test rolls tomorrow. hee hee. Tia is going to go hang out in town all day but we may go to the late show tomorrow night and watch Twilight.

Well I'm going to go put some of my mess in the kitchen away and take out my contacts and go to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Today I felt like crap. started out fine, later on was freezing and couldn't get warm. turned on the pellet stove, wrapped up in a blanket and fell asleep. woke up feeling warmer but pukey. got over that and feel ok now. We went to the Greenhand Ceremony tonight for the local FFA chapter went to Leo's for a burger and now we are back. WOOOHOOO exciting eh? Ummmm I also bought a new pair of shoes. hahahaha. I am sooo exciting. I actually always buy the cheapest shoes possible for myself cause I am cheap.... I mean "economical" but my one foot has been killing me lately especially after playing volleyball. So I decided I needed a real pair of gym shoes to play ball and such in. so I bought a pair today. its weird feeling the arch support in there and it actually made the muscles in my foot sore. what the crap. the owie in my foot doesn't hurt right now though so that's a good thing. Now if I just remember to change into old shoe when doing chores and such that will be good. yeah, that's about it for the day Told feels sick so he's relaxing on the couch. The kids are still catching up homework from sluffing all last week so are currently doing spanish and I am going to take out my contacts and go to bed!

It's official...

I am officially almost unemployed again. I think they said the 1st of Dec... uh I think *grin* hell could've been sooner. now I can't remember. They've been trying to sell the place forever but apparently gave up and leased it to a guy instead. It will be interesting to see how things work out as the guy who is taking it over used to just leave town on trips for days at a time for fun. Not sure how that will work into running a business that is open every day but 2 a year but oooook. So I guess I am seriously going to have to go look for a job. blah Hey! maybe I won't have to wake up at 5 am anymore!!! YAY!

Today was a joyous day. Ok, not really it was not a very exciting day, work, chores, grocery shopping, nap (yay), laundry, dump, moved goats around, made dinner... that's it so far. exciting eh? Tomorrow, we are going to worm kid goats and perhaps trim some feet. WOOHOO. hee hee Ok, not really a wahoo day but it needs to be done so there you go. Honestly we have nothing exciting planned for the next long time. I heard more rumours today that my job has been sold, so who knows how long I have it. oh well about that too. That just means less "fun" money but the bills will still get paid and that's all that matters at this point.

Ok, I'm off to put my pj's on. I was asleep last night by this time, I should be there again! heck if I was asleep now I'd get 8 hours of sleep again! Ok, so its not going to happen but maybe I'll shoot for 7 hours.

well nablo-whatthefa is half over. Maybe that's a good thing. I dunno. So today i worked. it was long and slow. ha its funny points though. sometimes my job makes me laugh. not enough to not be looking for another job now that all my prior commitments are over. Heck, its hard to know if I'll even have the current job next week. I heard from customers that they were meeting with a potential buyer again tonight. Of course they haven't mentioned any of it to me, but the mother of the owners are calling the guy the new boss. So I'm thinking its fairly serious. I really do hope they don't expect me just to stay working. I really need a real job.. ok, not a real job but at least one that counts. I'm still thinking cooking at McDonalds sounds mighty fine right now. Anyhow, I'm tired and I'm going to go take my contacts out, kick Tia off the couch and go to sleep.

Or something like that. We are finally home for awhile. YAY!! We have so much to get done around here to get ready for winter but we just haven't been here to do it. Now we are home as we have no plans for the near present future, so we shall be working our butts off to get the place ready for winter and working to make some moolah.

The turkey show was good. same as usual, mostly we use it to get our turkeys processed. We have got all our turkeys sold except for the couple we were keeping. Its always nice to get them processed and outta here. Of course now I want to eat turkey!!! I think we will have our annual prethanksgiving dinner next Saturday. We have regular thanksgiving dinner at moms so we don't get to have all the leftovers, so a couple years ago we started having our own Pre thanksgiving turkey so we could have the leftovers. We could always have it some other time, but once the turkey show is over I get to craving turkey! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm turkey.

We had a jolly good time visiting the Gates family. I felt much better when we got there, there is a different "vibe" (for lack of a better word) there but I still felt at home and not weird so it was all good. Mandarin was scrumptious. its a really good thing that we don't go up there all that often because that place has great food. Some day we may have to go somewhere else to eat though... maybe. No seriously I like other places... Is it my fault Logan is the only place with Mandarin. We did conveniently forgot blood tubes and such so will have to go back up sometime in the next few months to pull blood for testing.. hee hee hee.. I have a feeling cashew chicken will be sounding mighty good by then. Or shrimp and snow peas.. or tiny spicy chicken.. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm



Well I'm off to take a shower and put on my comfy pj's so I can relax and get to sleep to get all rested up for work tomorrow.

Its almost turkey day..

Ok, so I'm not talking about Thanksgiving, I'm talking about the turkey show. The birds are all tagged and in the trailer, hopefully we picked the "good" ones.. hee hee hee. None of them seem all that huged though. Oh well mid sized ones fit in the pans better.

We are also going to get to see the Gates family, which I have been so excited for but I will admit I'm halfway apprehensive about that now. I love those people, but I honestly don't feel that comfortable around any of them anymore. *sigh* I feel like we are intruding upon them and keep thinking we should just get a room instead of spending the night. *bigger sigh* I'm sure it will all be fine... I'm going to keep telling myself that. Well guess I should finish the paperwork for the show and go pack a bag. urgh

Ok, paperwork is done and the bags are about packed. Do have a couple of loads of laundry that still needs done though. blah blah blah

COLD!!

What the crap! we got home this afternoon and now I am freeeeezing! It was so nice and warm in Vegas now we are back to the frozen tundra. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

So I did finally get dressed yesterday.. the whole NCIS marathon was a ploy! after about 5 or 6 hours it started over. how rude is that. I know there aer more episodes than that. So we all got dressed and went to the southpoint and finished our air hockey tournament.. darn colt! he won again. I however did officially win the basketball shoot. we then cashed in all our tickets 2000+ of the and got some lovely prizes.. ha ha ha.. then we were going to go bowling but league bowling was starting so there were no lanes. Instead we went down the strip took some pics, had some interesting discussions, then went to Jack in the Box for dinner. Then we went back to the condo and then it was almost 9 and league bowling was getting over so we went back to the southpoint and went bowling. The boys kicked our trash (I got that saying from Tia) but we had a jolly good time. I was so sore afterwards, holy crap I'm getting old. then it was back to the condo and then starting to pack up our stuff. This morning we got up packed the car checked out and headed off. we stopped in St George and went to the mongolian BBQ yum. then came home and froze our arses off. Jumped right back into normalness as Tia had guitar. now I sit here thinking.. if we had no animals we could have alot more freetime! Oh well, onward back to reality we go.

last full day of vacation.

And I'm still in my pj's sitting in my big soft bed. Its 10:30 and I've been awake for a couple of hours but there is a NCIS marathon on today and I may stay in bed all day long! hee hee hee. ok, sometime today we need to go finish our air hockey tournament and go bowling, of course we could do that at midnight.. ha ha ha. we've also got to get rid of all these arcade tickets.

So last night we went to the Excalibur and as we waited around for the show we played in the arcade, we also went on the 4D motion rides. then on to the show. it was fun, usually is. Always makes me want ride horses more. Tia liked the half naked guys best. hee hee afterwards we came back to the condo and went swimming, then watched movies. at Midnight we had delivery pizza... ah the perks of being in a big town.. we should have found a all night chinese delivery place!

Now we are all still in our jammies... well actually Todd might be dressed not sure he's in the living room. the kids are both flopped across my bed watching tv with me. now I'm off. to pay more attention to my show. tomorrow we head home. It's been nice not having to worry about chores and such. it always makes me think what a nice relaxing life we'd have if we just lived differently but it'll never happen that way. ahhhh back to the real world.

and another day

Today has been pretty laid back, I fell asleep last night and woke about 2 am remembering I hadn't taken my contacts out (I can't wait til January 16th!) so I got up took them out and went back to sleep. exciting eh? hahahaha I actually slept in until 8 am, which is 9 am our time which is unheard of!!! we then went to a "presentation" so they could try and sell us more condo stuff but Todd was just in it for the 100 bucks. then we came back ate breakfast and played a mad game of whacked. Colt totally rules at that game, then Tia. Todd and I suck rocks. Now we are all lounging around until about 3 when we are going to go down to the Excalibur and hang out until our show tonight. We saw the tournament of kings a few years ago but it was cool and so the kids picked it again when I asked what they wanted to do this year. We are once again front row on the bad guy side and hopefully Merlin won't make an example of us again this year! hee hee. Well I think I'm going to go flop on the huged bed for a half hour and reeeeeeeeeeeeelaaaaaaaaax.

That one day in November....

Lovely date eh? So today I awoke and cooked breakfast for the family, then we headed out and took the boys to the Thomas and Mack arena so they could watch the final day of the PBR finals. holy crap what traffic!! When Tia and I left there we headed back to the strip and went to the Las Vegas outlet mall. Its huge! we were on a converse hunt. Tia ended up getting two different pairs as she had one all picked out then found another she was going to change her mind to but I figured they still cost less then the boots we got colt yesterday so I told her she could have em both. See her blog for pics. We then window shopped throughout the rest of the mall, especially the kitchen shops... I like kitchen stuff.. then we got a cookie and a frozen drink from the food court and headed back to the condo. later we picked up the boys and came back to the rooms for awhile before going over to the south point again to play a few racing games (I again failed) and then we watched the movie Role Models. It was funny, but wow the language. then it was time for dinner again then back to the room. We have jacuzzi tubs in both sides so I filled one up with hot water and had a soak. DoH! now I am tireder then crap s I think I am going to head to bed so I can make it through another day. Tomorrows agenda includes breakfast and the tournament of kings at the Excalibur. I'm sure we will add in a few games at the arcade too. Oh yes and we are scheduled for a down and dirty whacked game. One day I will be so good and they will be sorry.. yeah, it could happen. now I'm off to sleep! YAY

I can't remember what day it is!

But I'm having fun! The kids are counting game tickets from the arcade as week speak... there are 1250 so far. they just had 1250 ticket pickup on accident.. hahahahahahahaha

We left home yesterday afternoon and spent the night in Mesquite at the Virgin River Casino where we had a wild bowling game.. boys against girls. The first game was SOOOOO close, the boys ended up winning by one pin! ARGH! then they creamed us in the second game.. we shall get them back though! MWAH HA ha we then ate to much and went to bed. The beds were very uncomfortable and none of us brought pillows because we knew the condo has lots of pillows... we forgot about the first night.

So this morning we got up and went and ate breakfast.. again way to much food! then we went to walmart to pick up the boys some PJ pants because Bella had eaten Colts and she took Todd's out to Aggie who then ate them. Tia and I ended up getting new PJ pants too. they are cute. then we headed for Vegas. Got here and got checked into the condo. The setup here is interesting as the rooms are grouped into groups of two, here I'll try to put in a picture (ok, a drawing thing).



We have the two inner doors left open, so they are connected so to speak. we are calling the one side the "living room" and the other side the family room.. so we have the xbox hooked up in the family room and my computer hooked up on the table in the "family room". we are only planning to cook breakfasts (late breakfasts) so we will do all that in the living room side so that we confine most of the stuff to just one kitchen but we do have bottled water in the second fridge. Its really nice having the two distinct lounge area's as Todd is over there watching pbr and earlier taking a nap on the couch in the middle of his movie and we have been playing whacked on this side.

but anyhow, we checked into the condo then went grocery shopping, came back and had a ferocious game of whacked (I still suck at that game by the way) then woke Todd up and went next door to the Southpoint and played in the arcade. I rule at basketball so far and in our practice air hockey colt is still whipping us. Tuesday I believe will be the official air hockey tournament and he's going down! maybe! ha ha ha We then went and ate dinner. again WAY WAY WAY to much food. Doh! Now we are back in the condo, Todd is watching PBR, Colt is playing whacked, Tia is doodling and I am blogging. Now I am going to go over and watch PBR with Todd then in a couple hours Todd and I have tickets to Rodney Carrington, he's funny, at least I think I think he's funny. I guess you do have to be into off colour humour though :0)

November 7th! Finally!

YAY! This afternoon we run away from home for a few days and go see the bright lights of Las Vegas. I am really not much of a gambler but I like Vegas, we never seem to run out of things to do even if its just eating. No seriously, we go see a show or two, always have to have our annual air hockey tournament... COLT! your going down this year!!... spend alot of time in the arcade, go bowling and watch a movie. This year we are going for a few less days, so the only show on our agenda is the tournament of kings at the Excalibur. No wait, that's not really true. That's the only show the whole family is going to but Todd and I are going to see Rodney Carrington and Colt and Todd are going to the championship round of the PBR Finals. I'm excited and glad I got over yesterdays grouchiness. of course it will probably come back while I'm trying to get everything ready to go but then hopefully it will leave again. The only bad thing about vacations is I worry about the critters to much. the two young men who do our chores and take care of things while we are gone are awesome but I still worry.

Tia and I will have to stroll over to the lobby and use their WiFi to update, hopefully its not down or my NaBlowhatsit will be forever ruined. They are supposed to be putting WiFi in the entire place but I can't remember when that was supposed to happen so I'm not holding my breath on it. Until tomorrow.. I am off

It tis the 5th...

So today was fairly interesting. I went to work, RUSHED home and RUSHED through chores so I could get to Willie's by 10:30 to take him up to see the Heart Specialist. Good news is he isn't going to have surgery.. not so good news, the reason he isn't having the surgery is because the problem went on to long and the surgery will not fix it now. But overall his heart is in good shape and they can control the problems with meds they think. So that will be good.

We got home from Salt Lake just in time for willie to dump me off on a corner where my family picked me up to go to Volleyball. Our team did rather poorly, worse then usual actually. :-0 We topped it off by one of our team members getting hit square in the face with a spiked ball and being knocked out. It was lovely. I have a bloody skinned area on my leg, that's lovely too.

now I am awaiting Tia getting out of the shower so I can go take my contacts out and go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooong day. I have about a zillion things to do before we leave on Friday and I'm soooooo not ready. darn bad weather. I wonder what the weather is supposed to be like tomorrow. Hopefully its nice. hope hope hope

that is what day it is. did you know that? well you should. today is also election day. I voted, did you? I for one am really glad the elections are finally over so maybe we can all move on and not have to hear all the election crap. blah.

Today, I didn't do a whole lot. went to work, came home, did chores, voted, took a nap, cleaned on the kitchen, went and played volleyball and then made dinner. now I'm getting ready to go to bed because i don't know why but I am so freaking tired its not even funny. Ok, what did I do today.. Well I did something that made my eyes hugely dilated and my kids are giving me crap about it... hee hee hee... I went to work, drove to Salt Lake,ate at Fudruckers and then spent 2 1/2 hours at hoopes Vision in Sandy having a bajillion tests and scans done on my eyeballs to first see if I was a Lasik candidate and then to do the other tests needed to actually be able to do it. So I can in fact have it. Not til after the first of the year though so the medical account money is back in there. So its scheduled for January 16th. I'm excited, although it still kinda freaks me out thinking about being awake and staring at the light while they do it :-0 But I'm excited all the same! YAY!

That's about all I did today, now I'm home and its dark outside so I swear its bedtime even if it is only 7:30.

So today I am work and it has been horribly stormy combine that with the fact that it is Sunday and there have been relatively few customers. which makes for a loooooooooong 11 hours. we had rain out the wazoo and a freaky, but thankfully short windstorm. other then that its been a relatively boring day where I am and I don't know what the kids have been up to all day. I am hoping Tia followed through on my laundry hint and DID the laundry!

Tomorrow will be interesting as after work Todd and I are going to Sandy to have my eyes checked to see if I can have Lasik done. my eyes suck so I just know they'll say no, but maybe I'll get lucky. can't have it done til after the first of the year in any case but we need to know so we can put money in the medical account for next year.

Nov 1st..

Look so far I am doing awesomely awesome at the whole blog every day during national blogging month! I am soooooooooooooooo good!

So today Colt and I took bella to doggie day camp so she could play with the other doggies. it was not to be however. She started into heat today so she couldn't play with the other doggies. She did still stay for awhile and the staff played with her and gave her ice cream (non lactose dog ice cream! she loves that stuff). Colt and I went to Ikea so he could do a touch of shopping and then we went and watched "W" at the movies.. that has got to be the worlds stupidest movie and don't even get me started on what it makes me think of our current president if even half of it is true!!! After the movie we went to one of those Brazilian Steakhouse restaurants. can't remember what it was called though. It actually turned out to be cheaper then if we'd gone to applebees and that included colt's chocolate mousse pie. the rest of the food was pretty good too actually. then we stopped at a couple of stores, got Todd pizza and got home just before dark. Tomorrow I have work and I'm so excited! can you feel the excitement? you should be able to... or not. Well now I'm going to go raid the boy childs room and play whacked with the kids. YAY! we've been playing that game every night. I USED to be good at it. now I suck. they keep telling me its because I'm old. rude!

NaBloPoMo... do it... dooooo it

Ok, so last year I discovered people talking about NaBloPoMo and if I remembered I was going to get all the days.. what the hell is NaBloPoMo you say? It stands for National Blog Posting Month.. Ok, so that is what November supposably is, so to celebrate the great NaBloPoMo you are supposed to blog every day during the month... ai yi yi. So there we go, it will be national blog month so our goal Tia is to post every day. This should prove interesting (and somewhat hard!) as we are going on vacation this month as well as going to the turkey show! we can doooooooooooooooo it! I think... :-)

Ok, so now its Halloween night and we have had 10 trick or treaters! that's it!! what the heck. we're nice, non scary people but alas noone ever comes here. We generally give out regular sized candy bars, maybe next year we'll go for King Sized ones for our loyal visitors! anyhow, the real aim of this post is to show this years dinner. I had a hard time coming up with ideas for it this time and then I had a hard time with the dough as I used frozen dough and I'm not used to working with frozen dough. I had decided long ago we should have "meat pies" because ever since we watched Sweeney Todd we have joked about the meat pies in the freezer section of the store. So I bought some (I wouldn't recommend it! yuck! I should have made my own or bought the cheap pot pies but anyhow...) then I was trying to figure out how to have "body parts" in it and finally bought a cheap two dollar doll, uhhhh dismembered her, washed her arms and legs then cooked the pies and added the arms and legs. It was funny although nasty and not tasty at all. bleck. the batwings and eyes and spider and mummies were good though. Tia's mummy was made with a veggie dog.. strange! she said it tasted good though but I still have my doubts. The fingers were alright too, although I may make them a bit different next time. anywho, I am going to start on next years menu much much sooner! I like halloween, have I mentioned that?

Happy Halloween all! you wouldn't know it to look at my house but I really like Halloween. I used to decorate the house and yard almost as much as Christmas (although I dont hardly even do Christmas anymore!) But haven't for the last few years.... mainly because the box of lights and stuff are somewhere in the depths of my very very messy packed full shed! But anyhow, I like Halloween. So all you lovely people c'mon over to my house and get yourself some candy! We don't get alot of trick or treaters so so sad. Have a great day

It's TUESDAY!! WOOOOHOOOO

Don't know why I wrote that, felt like it. there is actually nothing special about today being tuesday but hey, I'm in a strange strange mood this morning. I am presently at work as usual, and there are no customers, again as usual. I need to get those cobra pics uploaded now that I've downloaded them. Maybe tomorrow I will have a post pics spree... or maybe not. Last Saturday was a pretty good day. I woke up earlier then I really wanted to and I was nervous as all get out taking Bella to doggie day camp but it all worked out pretty well.. well until it was over and she wanted to eat the "bug" (pug something or other cross). I should have known she'd want to eat it, she has this thing for eating real bugs. especially stink bugs.. Yick! anyhow, whilst Bella was at camp Tia and I went to the movies. We found a theatre which was playing the nightmare before christmas 3D and grabbed a quick sandwich before it started. if only I'd known they have a freakin food court in there!! I didn't look at the prices though so it all might be for the best we ate before since we paid $4 for a bottle of water once past the podium man. After that show got over we went out and got tickets to the next show, Saw V Tia and I have watched every saw movie so far but I must say this one wasn't even that bad. they are more gory then scary anyhow, but this one just seemed to be somehow lacking. I'm sure there is going to be another as they left it wide open for that but hopefully it will be better.

This weekend Bella has camp again and this time its Colt's turn to spend the day with me... Quit whining Tia! I can hear you already... oh wait I heard you in real life already. Its his turn. I believe Colt and I are going to go see "W". That should be interesting.

Lets see what else has gone on... Ummmmm.. not alot. Today I am going to get off work, go water cows, do chores and wait for help to go haul hay. I had thought about just going and hauling the part done so far by myself but then changed my mind. I would hate for my kids to miss all the fun and excitement! hahahahaha they will be so happy I waited. I am sure of it.

Cobra Cobra Cobra

Wooohoooo Last night was Cobra! It was great fun. Tia, Emily and I got there REAAAAAAAAAAAALY early to get in line, after a few hours Tauna arrved and we waited in the line forever again but it was fun... cold but fun. We ended up getting almost to the rail, one row in front of us and WHOA was it smooshy. people pushing and moving trying to get better positions but it was fun. Today my body feels as though it was beaten, a body surfer fell on my head and my neck made odd cracking noises but now its just a bit sore. My calves are sore also from bracing the throngs around me and not letting them move me. mwah ha ha Hot and sweaty, definatly tiring, but very very fun the opening bands were alright too, which is a nice change as sometimes you just wish for them to get over. Cobra is always good, although I swear I was deaf by then so it could really be just the mood of the crowd and singing and jumping aroud that makes it good rather then the music itself at the moment :-) I plan to download some pics tonight but for now I'm off to take a buck to the vet so tata

Good Morning!

Hello to you, my blog fans... hahahahahahah

I am currently in Fallon Nevada, after quite the week in California. Meetings did not go all that bad, there was alot less "crap" (for lack of a better word) that went on and they got done in two days instead of three! YAY! I am however glad that at least for the foreseeable future it will be my last convention to sit on the board. I am already excited for 2010 in Tucson when I get to do convention stuff instead of board stuff! YAY!! It always seems like the classes and tours I want to go on are right during board meetings thus not allowing me to go. I did get to go to a couple of classes on Friday this year though, they were on long distance hauling and one on showing and fitting tips. I have been showing and fitting for quite some time but still picked up a few handy ideas. Our lovely Mr Carl was also there. It was great fun to spend the evenings with him, he's always a fun man to be around. I was a abysmal failure when it came to pictures though as I didn't take a single picture of the motel or any of the activities.



There is a pic off the web of the outside of the hotel. It was a nice place, had nice staff and sometimes good food. I say that because the welcome dinner was not so great. I had heard the youth banquet was not so great and I had mixed reactions to the spotlight brunch. I did however like the food at the Friday night Banquet and our Directors lunches were superb. The wine and cheese event was awesome this year. I did not have one cheese that I wanted to spit into my napkin! I had a couple of surprises, not bad surprises though and there was plenty to be had by all. Not only cheese, but meat and vegetable platters. Todd, Carl and I had planned to make an appearance at it, then go to dinner. We did not end up going to dinner!
The spotlight sale was fun. It was a good thing we had brought the car as I know there is a really good chance we would have been bringing home a Saanen buck if nothing else! Which is why I brought the car. didn't want to be tempted. it didn't work was still tempted but at least it kept us in check. After the sale we jumped into our car and started on our way. We did take a scenic route at one point, but it all worked out ok as we hadn't planned to get all the way home. It would have been nice though. I miss my kids. Anyhow, we have gone down a little in our places to sleep as we are currently here:



Ok, so its not the doubletree, our room is clean and there is a bed and hey look internet! and free internet! It always amazes me that you can pay $100 plus a night and have to pay for internet and you can pay $50 and get it for free. Hmmmmmm...

Anyway, I will be glad to be home. Tuesday is COBRA COBRA COBRA! I am still not sure what our plan is. Tia is supposed to be deciding what time we are leaving to get in line and I don't think she's doing it! We have also not decided for sure about sleeping accommodations that night or if we are driving home afterwords. I will say there are NO places near the venue that I plan on staying!!! I am not even sure how we are going to park near the venue! I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

Well its getting late enough now (6:30 here) that I am going to go take a shower and pack up my stuff and make all kinds of noise to get Todd up and moving so we can hit the road soon I hope!

I did it!

stupid reports.. blah blah blah. oh well at least they are done. still not looking forward to directors meetings, and I need to get laundry done and find my "meeting clothes" and pack the car. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be all like "yay, going away for a few days. Woohoo" but for now its more like, "ugh, I have other things I could be doing"

Tock Tick...

Yes, I know it is generally Tick Tock, BUT I swear the clock is running backwards today! The weather sucks, it is snowing AGAIN and so all of Hinckley are holed up in their nice warm homes (or frozen in their beds maybe) and not venturing out to my lovely work to keep me company. Of course church doesn't get out for a bit so maybe that's where all the locals are and its just the usual tourists I am missing but it is making for one loooooong day! HUZZAH! a truck just drove up! It's super jumper frank, looks like he must have run out of fuel somewhere and hitched a ride to fill up a gas can! that's not a good thing in this weather. I call him super jumper because that boy can jump in volleyball, he just doesn't know the rest of the rules and breaks most of them! hahahaha He can jump though.

So what has happened this week... Well we never did find my keys. Maybe there will be a miracle and they will have been found by the time we go to volleyball tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath though. Hopefully we can find a place to make a spare. This only having one single key to the car is enough to put me on edge knowing we are going to lose it! :-)

I should be using this time to finalize my report for convention and finish reading and taking notes on the others. but I just can't get into it. Ok, so I'm going to HAVE to do it soon, the meetings are in two days after all! DOH! I am so not looking forward to it. Hopefully I get a better attitude once we are on our way... or once we get there... or hell eventually! I am totally looking forward to our family vacation in November though! YAY! The only part I worry about is the kids missing school, but we'll get over that I'm sure. I'm excited to go and we have some fun things planned I think plus we always have a good time just screwing around in the arcades. I am SO going to beat Colt at Basketball this year! I have about giving up on any of us ever beating him at the air hockey tournament. Grrrrrrr One day, we shall topple the kind of air hockey... one day I tell you, one day.

lets see what else.. we had Bella's last day of training for this session I had contemplated taking her to advanced but right now its not going to mesh with our schedule the next while AND I think there is a better option. Our main problem I want to resolve right now is her social problems. I had thought of taking her up to doggie day camp, where you take them drop them of for the day and they play all day with the workers and other dogs. Sounded like the perfect thing for her. BUT, I was worried about how it would go with her being so shy. I talked to our trainer who then brought in the lady who works in that area and we discussed it and they think it could be a good thing. They aren't worried about her social problems and so I think that's what we are going to do for a few months. take her up on Saturdays and leave her for the better part of the day so she can interact with others AND even better do it while we aren't there to "protect" her. This next weekend I will be gone, but I think we will take her up on the 25th for a test run and see what happens. I really hope it works. She is probably the neatest dog we've ever owned but I really want her to like people and other dogs too instead of just us.

The boys are back from hunting. They didn't get anything but snowed on but hopefully they still enjoyed it. Colt was talking about next year already so I guess they plan to go back.

what else... hmmmm..... I guess I'm running out of things to do to procrastinate so I guess I'll go do reports.

Ok, so its getting freakin cold outside. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Today it SNOWED! what the freakin heck!!! The ground was to warm for it to stay but it snowed and snowed and snowed, and its COLD out there! Hopefully it is going to warm up again at least for awhile but the high today was barely forty degrees. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Right now I should be working on convention stuff but I so don't want to. I have absolutely no desire to go! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh I'm so burned out on the being a director that the mere thought of going or reading the rest of the reports makes my skin crawl. This is my last convention as director though so I will persevere and get through it and then be free FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Ok, so actually I'm still a director until next october but it will be that much closer to being free! :-)

Sunday? what Sunday...

Ok, so I failed at the Sunday update :-) So now we are having Tuesday update. The boys have gone elk hunting and of course it started storming as soon as they left and I hear it was ugly as all get out up there. So far no elk, lots of snow and wind and cold. They were supposed to come home yesterday but they called and said they would be coming today instead. I'm not so sure I'm ready for the dirty boys to come home. the house has been pretty picked up all weekend with just Tia and I home.

So Tia and I were home all weekend alone as I mentioned. We didn't really do much but it was still fun, we had grand elaborate plans to SLEEP IN Saturday but I ended up going to work instead. Then of course I worked all day Sunday. Other then working we watched a couple of movies and ate fish and chicken! mwah ha ha. Then last night we went to Volleyball which was great fun until it got over and I found out Tia had lost the car keys. Not only that but the other set of keys is locked in the car and not only that but she thinks the lost ones are the ones with all my other keys on it and not just the car key! DOH!! I hope they find them out there once its light enough to see! But for now I gues at 4 o'clock when the place opens I will be heading out with the wrecker from Droubays and have them get me into our car. Then after Tia gets down with simulators we will drive back out there and search for the keys.

Todd and the Doctor

So we finally made it to the hip Dr after waiting forever after the MRI was done. It was odd though as for some reason Todd's hip apparently quit hurting about a week ago. Well anyway, we got to the doctor and he started looking at the MRI images. He said it didn't look nearly as bad as the other one had. There is a small piece that has broken off and is just moving around in there though. They are thinking that it has found itself a "happy place" and lodged itself there at the moment though and that's why the pain has gone mostly away now. So for the present time they are thinking no surgery! YAY!! If it starts hurting again then the piece has probably started moving again, at which time they will do one of two things 1) give him some sort of injection in his hip or 2) send him to a different doctor who does hip scopes. Apparently hip scopes are very uncommon but there are two doctors in the state that do them and they might be able to snag out the piece that way and smooth out a few other problems. Which may buy us alot more time before finally having to replace it. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hoping that the thing just stays in its happy place for awhile and that we can go a winter or two without having him be off work. That would be sooooooooo nice. So anyhow, that was the doctors report. The boys are going elk hunting this weekend. So we are all holding our breathe to see how it goes and if it starts killing him again after being more active for awhile. Hopefully it goes fine and things continue to look optimistic for awhile. I am not calling to make an eye appointment until AFTER the hunt though. I am just pessimistic enough to think that something is going to go wrong.

I'm blind!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Ok, so I've been blind for a long time but today I'm blind at work! For some darn reason this morning I grabbed Tia's contact case instead of mine and now I don't have even close to the right prescription in my eyes! I thought I was just tired when I left home but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo Tia called me and told me what a dork I am. I can actually see "things" alright but I can't read! what am I going to do with myself for another hour and a half without being able to see! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

I guess when I get off I'll go home and put the right contacts in then go to town and buy Tia some more maybe I'll order new glasses while I'm there. Mine kill me at night. I'm still hoping to get Lasik done, especially now that we think Todd won't have to have his hip replaced yet (oh yeah haven't posted about that yet) but I discovered you supposedly have to not wear contacts for like a month before AND besides my old ones are driving me crazy at night when I wear them after taking out my contacts. Things look about like they do today as a matter of fact . maybe I should have bought new ones sooner then every four years :-) I didn't want to buy new ones on the off chance I would get to have my eyes done though but every winter we use all the medical money on Todd's surgeries. But now it looks promising that there will be no major surgery and maybe I can get them done in January which means I should call and make an appointment to find out if I am even a candidate for it to be done at all! DOH! Well I'm off to refocus my eyes so I can post about Todd's Dr appointment.

A day out with the chitlins...

So yesterday the kids and I did our random chores, cleaned up the house a bit and then went to Provo. We were going to the "best in music" anniversary day shindig and had a couple of other stops to make along the way. We went to Sportsmans warehouse to look for a bbq box for the camp chef and got distracted by cots. So now Todd and Colt have cots to sleep on while they are in the tent next weekend. they will also be handy for when we are camping out at goat shows! so bonus buy there.

Then we stopped at I.M. Home a store that's near sportsmans warehouse in Provo. I had seen the sign on the freeway and kept thinking I should stop there one day. so we did. I was(and still am) in search of tall chairs or bar stools. they need to be about 30 inches high at the seat and a light colored wood. I'd also like them to not cost nine billion dollars, picky aren't I. thus far I am having NO luck finding them at all. expensive or otherwise. We did see some funky silver ones yesterday though.

The trip there was not a total loss, Colt has a loft bed and he has been pining for a loveseat or chair to put under it instead of his current crappy chair. Well I.M. Home was having a parking lot sale, they called it a tent sale but the only tent was a tiny popup everything else was just all over the parking lot. so I call it a parking lot sale! anyhow, he was walking along looking at all the loveseats and flipping over their tags when he found what is now I swear the love of his life. Ok, maybe not quite that bad, but I'm sure we are going to have to hear about it for a loooooong time. Its a tan microfiber loveseat that is very VERY comfortable and was marked down $300 which put it within his couple hundred dollar price range. so he bought it.

After buying the loveseat we went to the mall where we browsed around a bit and ate lunch in the food court.

We then went to the best in music store where tia was drooling over guitars and most particularly Basses, since she already has a guitar. Everything in the store was on sale for the anniversary extravaganza and she ended up buying the prettiest darn thing you ever did see! I love the color. I wonder what she'll buy next year.

So that was our lovely Saturday.

Tia bought a Bass! She's exceedingly excited but apparantly doesn't know how to upload a picture of it and while she does NOT fail at life and should quit saying that (grrrrr), I would have helped her if she had asked BEFORE I fell asleep. sheesh. not like I wasn't sitting at my computer for an hour before I went to bed. Just joking Tia... well kind of joking. Well as I am at work now I can not help her upload a pic of it now either but I can put on a pic of what it looks like from an ad :-) so here it be:

Sunday update

Ok, so I haven't been very diligent on the Sunday update thing, but guess what my blog buddy (who shall remain nameless... TAUNA!) hasn't updated her blog for 2 months or so! So today is Sunday, I'm at work like normal getting bitched at, but hey we already know that part right *grin*
My family should be home making preprations for Teresa and Don to come for semen collection tomorrow (now that just sounds so wrong, but it is what it is). The best thing about semen collection tomorrow is I DON'T HAVE TO WORK! YAY!!! Well that and we'll know if our new togg is fertile and if he should happen to croak on us we hopefully will now have semen in the tank and not just be out o luck! I do feel somewhat bad though as there aren't going to be hardly any bucks to be collected and they may seriously only get their 150 straw minimum at this stop, but oh well what can I say.
what else... tomorrow night colt and I have volleyball again, tuesday except for semen viewing there isn't much going on. Wed night... ummm.. Tia has guitar lessons. Thursday is Bella's class. Friday is... uhhhhh Friday (hahahahaha) Saturday I can think of nothing either and then sunday is come to work all day again day.

cut to this: there is a due on a motorcycle changing his clothes out in the parking lot. Hmmmm... I just had to tell him we had no fuel so I guess he figured he'd do a quick change instead. hmmmmmmmmmmm

This last week was also uneventful, work, guitar, dog class (in which bella wanted to EAT the other dogs! urgh).. oh wait dog class morning tia and I entertained the third graders with our goats. Did I write about that already? work, work, work, and now its sunday and I'm at work. what a fun filled exciting week! Bella has to get our more. I keep saying that, but it keeps not happening. well its got to start happening. She was a bit better at class when it came to people although still shy. but dogs was a whole nother story. she acts like she wants to eat them! poor rags and chester (the two other dogs in the class) are terrified of her! So our goal is to make her meet new dogs before next class. Yesterday boober came over to borrow Colt and when he brought him back home I noticed Harold (boobers dog) was in the truck so I said we needed bella to meet him. You guessed it she wanted to eat him. I scared the holy hell out of her and then when we convinced Harold to come back we let them meet again and it went better. so we praised her and did it again. She was MUCH better. she acted like she wanted to play with him and was being nice when he was bouncing all over her head. YAY!! Tuesday Tia and I are going to take her down to Jennifers house and have her meet sunshine (I think that's her name). that will be a good test as she seems to have a particular disliking for lab sized dogs. So we will see how that little foray goes. We also want to take her out to Mom's to meet Benji and then out to visit Harold again. Still trying to think of more people who won't think I'm a total whack job when I ask if I can borrow their dog for 10 or 15 minutes. hee hee

Nothing much else to report. If anything fun and exciting happens I'll try to remember to update. If I ever get the state fair pics sorted out I might post about that. Oh and we are currently trying to save the life of a calf but I'm not going to post about her unless she lives past today cause it aint looking so good right now!

I love my job...

have I mentioned that lately? probably not cause it wowuld be a big honkin lie!!!! URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

I have gone from just being bitched at for what we do not have in stock to being bitched at for the state of the cows on the range... How people traveling through think I have ANYTHING to do with that little bit of the world I have no idea but I have now had 4 sets of people bite my head off because the poor cows have nothing to eat. DOH! they aren't my freaking cows people! My cows are verging on obese ask my vet! that on top of the fact we have no gasoline "again" and its been a fun filled day of bitchy people and just sit here going "I just work here" "I just work here". I'm going to make myself a freakin t-shirt that says I just work here. It hit me Friday night as I came back to work the closing shift that I've worked here now for 16 years. what the heck is wrong with me!?!? I truly need to find a real job, but alas I have days off planned between now and the end of November but hey come December McDonalds here I come! you all think I'm joking but guess what... I'm not! I will gladly trade and cook burgers at McDonalds right about now. Anything that will involve less drama will be fantastic. besides I like to cook :-)
