Kylers Mission Return...

We didn't make it. Sad.

Apparently the mere thought of us all going to church at once was too much for the universe. Todd got up at 4 this morning, and hauled water to the cows. Alice had her puppies last night like a good dog so we wouldn't have to bring her and worry about when she'd have them. The kids got up at 5 to shower and dress for church and we packed the car. Todd got back changed clothes and we were off... we didn't get all that far. there was a loud noise and we lost a tire. Ok, so we didn't "lose" the tire, but the tire is toast. It separated apart and went flat. We got the old tire off and the "donut spare" on and limped back home. Now in the morning I will have to go buy two new tires, I'm so excited. We got new tires on the front not long ago and now we will have new ones on the back and Hey, now we'll have a real sized spare!

Still very sad to miss the shindig but hope Kyler had a awesome day!

oh yes Tauna, here are Tia's boots....

We were Warped..

Ok, so I'm not going to put a billion pictures up at the moment although I may add a slideshow tomorrow or something, but it was great fun. Really Hot and TONS of people but fun. Cobra was great although I did learn a valuable lesson about new tattoo's and mosh pits! below is a pic of some of the crowds by one of the stages

I'm going to be Warped

Of course some say I am already warped :-)

In a few short days I will be taking a carload of teenage girls to Salt Lake to the Warped Tour extravaganza at the Utah State Fairpark. As a general rule I love going to concerts, I get all excited at the prospect but for some reason I can't get excited this time. Ok, actually I'm a little excited as I do want to see Cobra Starship, its just the other 7 or 8 hours I'm not so giddy about. You never know some of the others might be fan-freakin-tastic but the thought of being out in the horrid heat with thousands of teenagers listening to bands that I may not even like is not jumping into my brain as a Yahoo sort of thing. I'm thinking I'm going to send Tia and her friends in at the start and have Tia call me once she reads the list so she can tell me when Cobra is playing and then I'll come back later :-)
Of course I have no clue what I'd do with myself all alone in Salt Lake so blah who knows.

Ok, so whats been going on... Todd and I ventured to California in a whirlwind trip Thursday and Friday. We took a few goats down for Daniel and stayed at his house that night, he took us out to dinner that night and then we spent entirely to much time chatting and stayed up way to late. It was great fun though, he is the nicest person but I think he works entirely to much. I haven't quite figured out when he sleeps either. So anyhow, we dropped off goats and a puppy then got up early a and picked up our new Saanens and came home.

what else.. nothing too exciting, we fenced a new area for the cows in the blazing heat. Colt was fishing with Grandpa and I'm sure felt really bad he missed out. NOT! Todd spent yesterday at the farm, finishing the fence, moving the cows and spraying weeds and I worked. Now another week starts and we go on. today not much is happening, tomorrow Bella begins her next round of obedience classes, Saturday is Warped, then Sunday we go to Newton for Kylers homecoming. I will be forever glad when he gets back as I swear more missionaries have been hurt there then anywhere! Ok, maybe its just that I about had a heart attack everytime the news would say a missionary was hurt there, so it seems like alot.

Well my morning time is gone so I must depart. Have a great and wonderful week all you fine lovely (nonexistant) people who read this blog

Sooooooo...

Ummm... How are you?

Okay.... So I felt bad that our blog hadn't been updated, and my dear mum says I can write on it as much as she can and so here I am! =]

......I don't know if anyone but me even reads this..... Oh well!

So the other day I locked myself out of my room. *nods* Colt and I were going to go all 'It Takes a Thief' and go threw the window, and then we realized there's a shelf in the way. =\
So yeah... My dad basically took of the handle with his mad skills, and wah-lah! Problem solved! =D

Speaking of my door... I spent a couple of hours COMPLETELY covering it with MCR fliers! It looks good! =D I'd post a picture but it's still on the camera and I'm on the wrong computer...

Sooooooooo... WARPED IS IN SIX DAYS!!!!!!!!! =DDDDDDDDDDD Yeah I'm excited. Just a little though, I swear. *winks*
Ha! My poor mom might lose her mind! She's driving me and three of my friends. Mwhahahaha!!!

ANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDD my ridiculously sexy boots came on Wednesday! I was ecstatic! =]

Okay... I think I'm out of things to say....

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Oh Wait! I forgot the Happy Fathers day note!

Happy Fathers day to all you Fathers out there!

I'm a world traveler...

ok, a USA traveler.. hahahaha no kidding it seems like I'm always going "somewhere". this coming weekend I will be going to California.. no fun and adventures this time though. I am excited though! we are picking up some Saanens. I have been wanting to get back into Saanens for a while now but kept telling myself after the kids are done. Well I changed my mind! I may as well have what I want now right? Tia is out of showing that leaves Colt and heck he's easy to get along with breed wise, so we're having Saanens! Saanens, Toggs and Munchies that is what I'm aiming for.

Not a whole lot more going on in our household so nothing to write for now.
til next time... this is Laurie, signing off. snort

Ok, so the next adventure is just Todd and I going to California to pick up some goats but hey still an adventure right? We are supposed to be getting 5 new Saanens a 2 year old a yearling, 2 doe kids and a buck kid. I'm excited to be getting back into Saanens, its been too long. well that's about all my fun and adventures for the last while. Now someone else do something fun so I can read about it!

New York trip Day 9- epilogue

Ok, so really we are home from back East and are now in Salt Lake. We had been going to get up and go to the venue pretty early and get in line. As it turns out we didn't and we didn't need to. We got meet and greet passes which meant we got to go to our own little line that got to go in early and meet the band, have our picture taken and then go right to the floor before the doors opened.

Tia filled you in pretty good on the actual concert. only I DID NOT do anything shifty with Jon. We were told that we weren't supposed to put our hands behind them or hug them or do anything creepy.. but it was habit I tell you. I stood next to him, he put his arm around me and I automatically put my arm around his waist. right after I did it I went.. oh shit, not supposed to do that.. but I had already done it so just left it there. We didn't get kicked out so no harm no foul right? I was proud that the girls made it through the signing that we did first. I thought Jazzy wasn't going to remember to breathe and Tia might have a heart attack but she even talked coherently to them instead of going all silent.

Then we were off to the floor. I was a bit worried about Jazzy because she is not very tall and the barriers were really tall. I was more worried when people kept trying to get to the front and hundreds of people were pushing her up against the steel. but she seemed fine. Of course then her and Tia both got bumped into the crowd and off the rail. Oh shit! what to do what to do. I thought about leaving the rail and looking for them but I could see them at times and so I hoped for the best and stayed on the rail to take pics. It was hairy up there right up until Panic were playing then everyone settled a bit and watched instead of pushing and shoving.

After it was over, we found each other and the girls were fine. Tia had stuck to Jazzy in the crowd and she was so small that others were trying to look out for her too. Then we did our ritual go to Denny's for a very late dinner then back to the room.

New York Trip day 8- leaving New York

So this morning we got up at 4 am. that was fun. hahahahaha would have been funner if we had went to bed before 1:30 but what the heck. Gail my lovely roomie, is not a morning person but she was a very energetic "tag lady" making sure all the old flight tags were off the luggage of all who boarded the bus.

The reason for the early morning was we were going to the taping of the Early Show on CBS where we all ended up on tv. oh yay. Some of the news people were really nice and it was interesting watching the behind the scenes stuff. as you'll see on the pics, one man started taking his clothes off... which was alright. hahahaha

after that it was off to the airport where we stood in a very long line to check us all in and then waited for our turn. I used my time to watch music video's on my laptop and text message on my phone :-) we then had a layover in Minnesota then on to salt lake where our trip officially ended....

But my trip didn't end there! We met Jennifer in Salt Lake where she took Colt and left me Tia and Jazzy. we then checked into the Baymont to await what I am calling "The New York Trip- Epilogue (day 9)" Now I must go actually work so day nine will be later, or tomorrow maybe!

New York Trip Day 7

(ok, so this is how we are going to play this. we are going to go in our wayback machine and go way back to the day that this all actually happend and pretend I'm keeping up like a good blogger :-) so remember it is now Monday. got it)

So here it is Monday morning and we are going on a guided "city tour" our lovely guide... uhhh Kim, or Ken or something is telling us about various sites as we drive around the city. We will be getting out at a few places also... oh like here-

Central Park: Central Park is just lovely. I may have mentioned all the green and trees in the area before but holy crap there are alot of trees and lovely spaces in the park. once you get in there you don't really notice you are in the middle of such a busy city as your now in your own little world. they had the coolest gazebo/ trellis/ something or other things that I want! Did you know almost every green thing in Central Park was physically put there!? Ok, so I'm thinking if we plant a thousand trees and build one of those gazebo thingies I will be set :-)
I also didn't know just how huge central park is! we stopped at a map where our guide showed us the tiny bit of the park we had been wandering around in and it was like 1 100th of the place :-0

then it was back on the bus and off to more sightseeing. I can't remember everywhere we talked about but the man was hilarious. Our next stop was at Grand Central Terminal (station is not the right word although that's still what I call it) That place is also huge. the ceiling is quite interesting with the constellations painted on also. They have a market there that is awesome! I WISH Salt Lake or anywhere in Utah for that matter had something like that. It was very cool.

back on the bus... one site we saw from the bus. Did you know New York has a trapeze school? well they do and I have pics to prove it

next stop was the site of the world trade center. it now looks like any other construction site but you still feel the great sense of loss. The building next door is still being torn down but its taking a long time because they are still finding remains after all this time so they are making sure everything is thoroughly gone through instead of just bringing the building down. we also went to the church across the way where alot of the rescuers had down time. That is where the picture of the headstone came from. I like the headstone as if I am going to be relegious here a moment I think God is the one with the last say. no matter what religion they may follow.

after our tour with him ended we went to chinatown to "shop". Colt and I didn't do much shopping as there wasn't really anything there we wanted. It was a tad weird walking down the road and having people whispering in your ear about what they had for sale "in the back".

I think we then went to dinner.

So we went to Spanky's to undress. That is how they phrased it when they were telling us our day that morning. really we were going to Spanky's which is a BBQ place for dinner, then we could change into our clothes to go to Phantom of the Opera. so that is what we did

we had a short time before we went to the show so we spent it in Times Square again. where there were cops EVERYWHERE! upon asking one why, it turns out they were having a antiterrosim drill. We also braved getting killed by going down the middle of the road to what I like to call the ketchup fence (grin) and snapping a pic. You can't tell me it doesn't look like someone drew with a bottle of ketchup!

Phantom of the Opera was awesome. I wish I hadn't been so tired though, I think i would have liked it more but it was cool. Colt was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY on the otherside of the seating from me. Oh well. He liked it too.

After that we went back to the motel and BS'd way to long beings as we had to get up at 4 am. note to self. 1:30 is not the proper time to go to sleep to get up at 4! I would like to also comment on all the No Honking signs! they are all over the place... but no one listens.

WOOOOOO!!!

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, we just got from the Panic at the Disco concert, and I'm overly hyper, and can't really think straight, so this will probably not make any sense to anyone but mwah! But I don't really care! My mum is going to write about it later, SO HA!!! I can ramble on ALL I WANT!!! MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ahem. So we started off our adventure waiting in a couple of lines outside of the Saltair, where we got pretty green bracelets from a awesome guy named Zach, and I couldn't stop shaking and thought I was going to have a panic attack. (Ha! Ha! Panic was going to cause me a panic attack!)

Once we entered the Saltair, we were put into yet another line where Zach explained to us what we could and couldn't do while talking to the band. We then watched as the boys walked in and sat behind a couple of tables. They were nice! And I talked! WOOOOOOOO!!!! GO ME!!!! So after they signed our stuffageness, we got our pictures taken with them (And my mum TOTALLY put the moves on Jon! *wink wink nod nod*) After that they left and we went and stood at the barricade.

Phantom Planet played first, and were AMAZING! (Now I want to go buy their record *nods*) And Jazzy basically got raped from this girl behind her.

Next The Hush Sound played, and..... let's just say I wasn't that impressed...ummmm... yeah.... And I got VIOLATED by the person who had been behind Jazzy! But then I turned around again and it was a guy behind me! (please say that was his knee poking me in the butt *repeats saying this over and over*)

So then between them and Motion City Soundtrack me and Jazzy got thrust from the barrier and into the middle of the pit, luckily I could still see, and they did amazing also!

Well we made are way back to as close as we could to the barricade, while being shoved around a bit, and who did I meet?! Some skank who thought she was better than everyone! She screamed a few things at me I screamed back, (a few choice few words I might add *evil laugh*) She didn't talk to me anymore, it was all good!

So then Panic played! THEY WERE AWESOME!!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD

Afterwards we went and bought t-shirts, got a free CD from some band called 1997, I wonder if it's any good.... Hmmmm..... and went to our car where we drove and ate then drove back to our hotel where I am typing!!!

Okay! This is it until mum writes about the concert! Woooooooooo!!! I so need to calm down!!!

xoxo!

New York Trip Day 5 and 6

Ok, so I'm going to cheat and combine days! Ok, so yesterday was day 5 and we had a looooong day so I never got online to blog about it.

We got up in the morning and went to Valley Forge, which was fairly interesting. We then headed for Philadelphia where we drove around and looked at various sites and then stopped at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where the kids raced up the steps like Rocky and then we had our pics taken by the rocky statue. Ok, so actually I was going to take Colt's picture by the thing but then he paid some homeless man 2 bucks to take a picture of both of us. ai yi yi

Then we went to see the Liberty Bell, Franklin court and Independence Hall where I knocked my camera to the concrete and broke it. Very unfortunately it was on so the lens was out and now it won't go back in or come on. So that was pretty much the end of the pictures for about 24 hours I did take some with my phone, just got to figure out a better way to get them off it. That evening we went to the Phillies/Marlins game where the home team lost....badly. we then meandered back to the hotel where we arrived about 11 or so.

Now we are to Day 6. We had to be up exceedingly early to head to New York.
Once there we went to Liberty Island to see Lady Liberty then rode the ferry back to Battery Island where we browsed then headed for a walk through New York to South Seaport for lunch. then onto the Empire State building where Colt actually made it up to the observation deck level. we didn't stay up there long but he did make it up the elevator ride and into the glass room Still no camera so sorry no blog pictures. While we waited forever for the rest of our group to get back downstairs we went next door and found a lovely replacement camera. It is another cheap one like the original just much newer. I thought it would work with my dock, but apparently something has changed in the last 5 or so years. sad. The memory card and rechargeable battery works though.

After the Empire State Building we walked to Times Square where we wandered around awhile the highlight was probably M&M world . Oh wait, Colt and I also shared a black and white cookie ala Seinfield. And stopped at the bar above Bubba Gumps for a drink (blueberry lemonade) then on to The funky restaurant Mars 2112 where we had dinner. We then had the choice to go to another Baseball game or come back to the hotel and we came back to the hotel. Tomorrows leave time is not til 9 so we get to sleep in! yay.

Ok, so it wouldn't let me post last night so lets see if it will go now!
